A brief biography of Imam Tabatabai – by Amir Al-Athari

Imam Sayyid Muḥammad bin Ibrāhīm Ibn al-Wazīr Tabatabai رحمه الله (d. 840/1436) was a grand Yemeni Salafi Hadith scholar. He was the frist person who introduced the Madhab of Ahl Sunnah Wal Jammat in Zaidi ruled north Yemeni highlands. He wrote a rebuttal of the Rawafiz and then penned a massive defense of the Prophet’s Sunna as understood through the Manhaj of Salaf Saliheen.

Amongst his works is a commentary on Ibn al-Salah’s Muqaddima, titled Tanqih al-anzar.
al-ʿAwasim wa al-Qawassim fi al-Dhab ʿan Sunnat ʾAbi Qasim.

Al-Burhan al-Qatiʿ fi ʾItbat al-Saniʿ wa Jamiʿ ma Jaʾat bihi al-Charaʾiʿ.
